Computer Engineering Department hosts the First Scientific Innovation Hackathon competition
Under the patronage of the President of the University of Technology, the respected Professor Dr. Ahmed Muhammad Hassan Al-Ghaban, and under the supervision of the University’s Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, the respected Professor Dr. Khawla Salah Khashan, the Computer Engineering Department hosted the “First Scientific Innovation Hackathon” competition.
Which was held by the Technology Incubators Division on Tuesday, 11/5/2024, in the department’s conference hall.
The First Scientific Innovation Hackathon aims to bring together participants from various disciplines to enhance creativity and innovation in the scientific and technical fields. Participants work in teams to find innovative solutions to address societal challenges.
The hackathon provides an opportunity for participants to learn and exchange ideas with industry experts, and encourages collaboration and teamwork, enhancing the critical and creative thinking skills of young people. It also aims to transform ideas into practical solutions that contribute to serving society and spreading a culture of innovation among individuals. Eight contestants participated in the competition, each of whom presented various ideas.
By holding this competition, the university aims to develop entrepreneurship among its students and members of the University of Technology, in an effort to support the growth of the local and global economy.
At the conclusion of the competition, certificates of participation were distributed to all participants, while the winners received the Scientific Creativity Shield based on the evaluation of the jury. The awards were presented by the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Khawla Salah Khashan.
