The Department Foundation
The Computer Engineering Department was founded in 1997 in order to keep in line with the modern developments which are taking place rapidly in the field of information , computer technology , and software industries where it has first welcomed its students in (1997-1998). This technology has played an important role in the economies of many developing countries. At the department, the best students enroll to receive education in order to become members of a creative and innovative highly scientific staff; the study period is four years after gaining High school certificate.
Vision
The department of computer engineering is committed to provide an educationally outstanding experience that meet the international normative standards and provide competent engineers that fostering economic growth.
Mission
Prepare students to become professional engineers and keep them engaged with the state of the art and high ethical values in the field of computer engineering in order to serve our beloved country. In addition, we are keen to update the teaching and research approaches for all education levels including undergraduate and postgraduate programs in order to keep up to date with the rapid developments in the field of computer engineering.
Objectives
- Continuous development of the technological and applied study plans and adopt modern teaching and learning methods to meet the requirements of the labor market.
- Encourage students to solve applied scientific research challenges using cutting edge technologies in order to develop national competencies and enhance their creativity and leadership.
- Organizing symposia, courses and scientific conferences to exchange experiences.
- Seek international certification such as the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) and national quality assurance certificate
- Encourage students to participate in activities that help them to develop their skills and abilities to communicate and exchange their knowledge in an effective way.
